Thanks, its nice to know these things before getting caught out, my
national insurance number is only 9 digits so they must have changed
that in the last 15 years. Maybe I should chase up a new number and
register with a UK practice. I have to pay full UK council tax anyway as
a deduction is not allowed for the first property unless it was emptied.
I see there is hope and they are recommending that if you have paid for
at least 7 years then you should keep the entitlement

I guess I have to get a Romanian passport - no offence intended to
genuine Romanian people who have come to benefit the UK but I did see a
program about a group who have just come for the benefits and had no
problem getting NHS treatment - even my wife who is not British was
angry with them and the system.
