I can't speak to the Minolta, Mike, but as to the Nikon 4000, yes,
resolution and DR are much better from the PII. High volume 35mm is not its
forte, but unlike the Nikon 4000, it will handle MF film with ease, up to
5x4.

But it's tricky to get set up with current PCs. But so is the Nikon 4000!

To get an idea of its positioning at the time it was current, take a look at
the current position of the Hasselblad Flextight X5 scanner (which is the
current incarnation of the Imacon Flextight scanner). USD20700 from B&H.

Where does this scanner fit into the pantheon of scanners? I have read that
in high use can be finicky to keep adjusted and operational.
So it substantially outperforms the Nykon/Minolta? Too bad the new Plustek
120 seems to get mixed reviews but not many current offerings else to choose
from.

Crumped scanner for ages, Mike
