Partly erroneous, Chuck. PS is no longer available as a boxed product. LR
is, and AIUI will continue to be so.

Their past practice with PS was to allow upgrades to (for example) CS5 from
CS2,3 or 4. They discontinued that at least a year ago, so you could upgrade
to CS6 only from CS5. That limitation does not apply to LR - any prior
version is OK. And that is the "past practice" I had in mind, although I
wasn't assuming anything!

It was my assumption (perhaps erroneous) that henceforth PS and LR or their
upgrade versions will no longer be available as something I can buy. You
say: "If they continue their past practice with LR..." Why do you assume
that? Why would I not also assume that they will continue their past
practice with PS and I can continue as I always have?

If I'm happy with the function of PS6 and I can get a copy of the most
recent ACR by occasionally popping $75 for a Lightroom upgrade I'd be happy
and not bother with the $10/month tax.
