The pistol is not terrifying to me, as a sensible gun owner myself. What
is more terrifying to me is the way the radicals and the
conspiracy-theorists are getting so much press and validation in the media.
I have an uncle who is one year older than me. I had to start blocking his
posts on Facebook because I simply couldn't stand seeing my timeline filled
up every day with links to all of this Tea-Party, Freedom-fighting Patriot,
"Let's storm Washington with a million Militia Patriots and take our
country back from __________ blah blah blah" hate stuff. And some of the
things he was posting on his own were scary. He's family, he and I spent a
lot of time together while I was growing up, but now he's one cabin in
Minnesota short of being his own militia.
