I use two ball heads one one 3-way. (Two of which are heavy-duty
Manfrotto hex-plate style).
It really depends on what I'm shooting and with what gear. I like the
three-way head for studio use and when I'm doing my moon photography.
But generally speaking, I like the ball-heads much better for field
use. It's easier for me to make one adjustment than three.
