Thanks, Chris. These are black and white film. I still shoot 150-200 rolls
of it a year. I very rarely convert digital images to black and white. I
shoot digital when I want color, film when I want black and white. What
I'm using for most of my recent work is a Mamiya 6. Its a medium format
6x6 rangefinder system. I sold my Hasselblad system and used the money for
the Mamiya several months ago.

My health is not good, my legs are in pain all the time and I have never
been physically strong. I could never carry the Hasselblad as an 'everyday
carry' camera, the way I did with 35mm gear, and even when I went out
specifically wanting to shoot with it, carrying it was painful. The Mamiya
is incredible. It is so light and small that I can carry the body and all
three lenses made for it (a 50, 75, and 150mm) in a small bag with a
Minolta Flash Meter VI and a lot of film. Its my everyday carry-everywhere
kit now. I can carry it all day without pain, and I can handhold it even
at slow shutter speeds! I love it! I have always loved square format, and
now I have a camera that¹s as easy to work with as a 35mm camera to do it.

I develop my black and white film myself and scan with a Nikon LS-8000ED
scanner that I have used for over a decade now. I get good tones because I
have rigorously tested the film and developer combinations I use and I use
a spot meter to place the tones where they need to be for perfect negs.
The kids always win was done on Tri-X in D-76 1+1. I do a lot of work on
Ilford FP4 in PMK when I am doing landscapes and buildings with a tripod.
I use Tri-X in D-76 1+1 for my handheld work.

I've got my tested film developing times and exposure indexes for the
films and developers I have worked with on my website here:

I have some other tutorials on scanning, printing, framing, and editing
too.
