Why thank you Mr Moose for a peek at your admirable collected works. And
thanks also for the pointer to another source for such things. Move over
Lulu and others!

In the meantime, Mr. Moose has made a photo book that may be close to the
antithesis of Mr. Crawford's oeuvre.

The title is only on the spine, "Extracts from Artifacts".

I have called my images that are formal vignettes from a broader visual
field 'abstracts' in the past, but recently learned that St. Ansel, perhaps
from growing up with true abstract art, preferred the term 'extract', which
does seem to me more precisely descriptive.

A modest book in size/scope, in part because it was a special price for 40
images; it's limited to relatively recent images with µ4/3 cameras of
subjects that are primarily or completely man made.

In the process of creation, it somehow became a series of otherwise mostly
unrelated images in facing page pairs that relate to each other in various
ways. The relationship is most often purely visual, but may be quite
different between pairs.

Carol LOVES it, so it has at least one fan, and was already worth the
effort. I'm still a little too close to it to know what I think about it as
a whole, freestanding piece.

Thanks to all here who have had nice things to say about my various Extract
images. Especially to Joel:

* The image to which Joel referred is not in the book. It should end up in
either an expanded version or in Extracts from Artifacts II. :-)

What if the Hokey Pokey *IS* what it's all about?
