That little pipsqueak flash is very good with fill-flash. But I do
think it's partly caused by the wide-angle lens. Since the lens is a
fixed wide (normal-wide), that you tend to be closer to the subject.
Because you are closer to the subject, the flash doesn't have to pound
out as much light. Combine that with a wider than typical aperture and
you've got the best of both lighting worlds. The ambient exposure is
correct and the flash exposure kisses the subject just right. As the
flash is so close to the lens itself, you don't get much of any
shadows.

The skintones of these Fujis are just so right.

What's not to love?
