Cool. We were on track for FIOS several years back when our DSL was still
with Verizon, and they were testing it in Fort Wayne (where Chris lives,
about 90min from here), but then Verizon sold their internet service to
Frontier who promptly scuttled any plans to bring FIOS to our area, and
also immediately changed out all of the DSL equipment at the CO which cut
my bandwidth in half. And then they told me that there was no possible way
I could have had what I had before, that what I had now was the best I was
ever going to get, so I should just stop whining and be happy with it.

After two years of hearing that BS, I dropped 'em and went with Comcast.

Every once in a while someone rattles the MetroE word around here, but
nothing ever happens. So right now, if you want anything higher than 1.5
down, 768 up, Comcast is the only game in town.
