Ah, my friend, you are a year or two younger than me. For de Gaulle's "Vive
Quebec Libre!" speech was 1966, while they turned me loose from high school, in
'64. I. too, had a Peugeot, very similar, but red, in (I think) 68 through 71.
You've made me remember the '64 Bastille Day Parade & fireworks, in Paris,
under de Gaulle, his speech in '66 and, of course, the bike.
