Hijacking the thread - which was bound to occur eventually

I am finally diving into digital beyond the casual cell phone grab shots.
Wanted a pocket compact first - small enough to easily fit into a cycling
jersey pocket - and ended up with a Sony DSC-RX100. The images from it have
stunning clarity, contrast and resolution - finally a digital compact that
rivals what I could get from my Rollei 35S in the same form factor.

The RX100 is phenomenal with an enormous 1" sensor and Zeiss Vario-Sonnar
glass, but it is a compact with some limitation similar to my Rollei 35S. Now
for a larger digital. After using the OM system for so long - along with a ZI
RF - the DSLRs are too heavy and bulky. After some deliberation I'm going
mirror-less as the current state of EVF technology is making optical
viewfinders, prisms and mirrors all but obsolescent.

Ask 10 folks and you'd get 10 different preferences (OK maybe 7-8) for a
mirror-less with interchangeable lenses, an excellent EVF and a hot shoe. The
choice for me is the NEX-7 which can use all of my fast OM glass with an
inexpensive adapter (akin to a "dumb" extension tube). Yes, the OM-D was on the
short list. Fortunately I outfitted myself with a fair amount of Metz SCA 3xx /
3xxx flash gear some years ago and it's *all* usable with the proper SCA 3xx2
adapter and remote / connecting cords, nearly all of which I already have.

Been a long time in coming - digital finally achieving what I was able to get
from the 35mm films I used.
