Yes, but I can't tell you what they are from a scientific point of view. When I
was young, I did my best to find
dissolution along with my friends. I could never drink as much, never passed
out, etc. However, they would have a
hangover for a few hours the next day, I would be bedridden, barfing up green
slime, for much of three days or so.

Eventually, it got through the stupidity of youth that I simply processed and
reacted to more than modest quantities of
alcohol differently than most people.

I eventually gave up trying. For many years after that, I did have to watch
myself at good parties, to avoid going over
the line. But for at least the last couple of decades, I've been naturally
self-limiting.

I lost my taste for distilled spirits some years ago. other than the occasional
taste of something someone says I just
MUST try, it's wine and beer for me. I did have a small Bombay Sapphire on the
Cape last fall. I've never liked vodka,
but that was strangely enticing.

I think one of the things we have largely lost with the ascendance of
allopathic medicine is listening to our bodies. If
mine says it doesn't want any more of something, I stop. Sounds like yours
knows what it wants, too.

Yep. My idea of wine with dinner is 3-4 oz. Carol and I generally split a beer
when we have one.
