It just occurred to me to check with AAA (American Automobile
Association) of which I am a member. You need to be a member to get
rate discounts of about 20% but you can still use their web site to
search for hotels carrying the AAA recommendation (hotels are rated with
from 1-5 diamonds). The least expensive AAA recommended hotel I found
in downtown Boston is a 2 diamond hotel, Best Western Plus Roundhouse
Suites at 891 Massachusettts Ave. They have rooms available on the 15th
& 16th.

You can read reviews here which are generally positive:

The best rate Alice might be eligible for is probably $179. But be
aware that the stated rates are not inclusive of taxes and fees which
may add another 15%.

Perhaps these search related links will time out. If so you can do your
own. The links above are the result of a search originating with my own
local chapter of AAA. Use this link and enter 13760 for the zip code
which will take you to the Southern New York chapter of AAA.

Good luck,
