But the differences held even when the focal lengths were similar. A 135mm
lens in medium format produces the same DoF as a 135mm lens in 35mm format
when the subject on film size remains the same. If the focal length and
subject-film distance remains the same, the only advantage to the medium
format is the amount of room in the image you have to work with for
cropping.

What? Somebody else noticing this and attributing it to aspherical lens
elements? Say it ain't so. Who knew that there would be two of us blowing
this smoke out our behinds.

I don't know. I'm finding most Zuikos to play favorably in regards to this.
The 100/2 especially sings a nice song. It is true that some of the lenses
won't get past week one in "Dancing With the Stars", but then again, it is
up to the photographer to identify and then apply the characteristics or
"flaws" of a lens to accomplish an artistic intent. Perfect lenses are for
dweebs.
