The day is still young.
In all honesty, I'm a tiny bit disappointed. I was hoping for a more
significant jump up from the Mark II. The 7D ergonomics will be
greatly appreciated though. That alone might be considered worth the
price of admission. The bulk of the improvements though would really
only be realized if I was using Canon lenses. From that perspective,
as I'm looking specifically for a digital back for the OM lenses, the
Mark II just might be fine. But if I'm going to spend a chunk o change
on a new full-frame digital camera, it might as well be the most
current beast. But thanks to upgrade fever, a Mark II might magically
fall out of the sky with a very attractive price.
Based on today's conversation, there could be a VERY significant
change in direction for my photography and Zone-10. You can blame it
all on Bill Barber. This change in direction might totally derail a 5D
purchase. Or it might not. We're going to work through the new vision
statement to see how it fits. A few thousand bucks are going to be
spent one way or another. If no 5D, then at least I'll pick up the
OM-D to replace the E-1 and DMC-L1.
