     Yes, you needed to be fully aware of your landing just in case, especially 
in bad crosswinds.  After a while I just ignored the "wing low" crosswind 
technique that the instructors insisted on and instead used the "crab" 
technique that I had learned earlier.  Stuck with that with the C-130's later.  
Some did not care for the last moment rudder kick prior to touchdown.
