I think your Hoya 35-105/3.5 is the same lens Vivitar and Tokina RMC
35-105/3.5 Two Touch 72 mm.

There are 2 versions of the Tokina RMC.( Old=Mid-last 70s and Modern=First
80s)

I have the two versions of Tokina but I have not tested side by side.
