Does anyone out there have any recomendations for a good UK based mail order
lab for colour neg film D&P?
I was looking through a lot of old prints recently and the colours seemed
so much brighter and the photos sharper than what I am getting now. Same OM
gear and same type of film. The print quality appeared to drop about the
same time as getting a CD-rom back from the lab became an option. Would I be
right in thinking that the older, better prints were done using a
traditional enlarger and the new flat, low-contrast ones are a product of
digital scanning?
If so is there any way to improve the siuation other than re-scanning and
home printing the negatives? (Using my 5d mark 1 would be a lot quicker but
no fun at all)!
