Nice to hear from you, Paul. I was at Wright-Patterson, assigned to the
Aeronautical Lab, 20-Ft Wind Tunnel, from Aug 51 to May 53. While there, a
number of rated officers had to get in their flying time in C-47s, and I
bummed a ride to Maxwell and back. That is my only flight time in one.

Early in my career at Arnold Engineering Development Center, the AF group
had a C-54 assigned for official trips. I made one trip to DC in that, and
it was much nicer than the C-47 with its bench seats.

But, the days of round engines is gone. Though, if I hear one, I still look
up!
