Jim, those are beautiful. I've always thought the dogwoods down in TN
were better than anywhere else I've seen. And that even beats Quincy,
Illinois, which is world-known for the dogwoods.

In this picture, the flowers have a slightly faded look to them which
cuts down the color density a bit. Cranking up the saturation would
screw up the rest of the photo, unfortunately. But in this case, with
the sun shining on them that way, a polarizer turned to remove the sun
glare on the petals might work. Spritzing them with water/glycerin can
give them some life too, but then you end up with the wet look.

I t'd also be tempted to drag down the curves a touch in the lower-mid
tones (Zone-III, Zone-IV), to give them a slight Velvia punch.

I'm getting pretty antsy here in Iowa waiting for the flowering trees
to do their thing. An uncle of my wife's has something like 800 acres
of woodland and farmland in southern Iowa where he has planted
hundreds of trees of various flowering and nut varieties. I'll be
heading down there on either the 23rd or 30th to go photographing for
a day.
