Hey Piers, sorry I didn't respond sooner. I just started a new job this
week and have been very busy training.
We're planning on starting off in the Rep. of Ireland, spending 5 days or so
there, then heading up to N. Ireland to see a close friend. While there
we'll be going to the Giants Causeway and spending time out in the country.
From there we're planning on heading over to Scotland and further east to
Edinburgh, where another friend of mine lives. I've been informed that
there is a massive art festival in Edinburgh in August, which we're very
excited to see.

Boris and Ed both make compelling cases for ditching 35mm in favor of MF,
but it probably won't happen, just because I know I can carry an OM, two
Zuikos, the E-P2, and a couple m4/3rds lenses all in my smallish camera bag.
That said, I'm still on the fence about a two lens combo for travel. It
will probably end up being 28/135, but I'm also considering 21/50 or 28/100.

As an aside, I do not yet have a Mamiya 7, but fully intend to get one in
the next couple months. However, I'm also looking at the Fuji fixed lens
medium format rangefinders as a cheaper alternative, especially since I
don't really plan on buying into a system. Anyone have any thoughts on the
Fuji rangefinders as compared to the Mamiya 6/7 system?

Well if you are coming here you don't need to carry that much equipment as I
am sure there is a goodly stash of OM glass etc. waiting for you at the
CaledOMia 2011 meet.

How far north do you plan on venturing?

Keep us posted!

Piers
