Chuck, you may very well be right about the lighting. A simple perusal
sees just spaced, track-light halogens on dimmers, though I'm not
suggesting my "just" is just. As for the telly idea, my photos are not
broadly conducive to such large prints as a telly might hold, and I'd
feel compelled to use (personal idiosyncrasy) and thus restricted by
the telly's ratio of display, but I do think it'd be a great idea for
many who have different practices and preferences to mine. I can see
it, as technology becomes cheaper, being the new "framed picture" in
most every room. In fact, maybe I'm being too hasty to judge my own
preferences, and it *would* suit at least a couple of my rooms here.
Yes, definitely a good idea [sets thought aside for later
deep-thinkery].

Wiliam, regarding that "raising-the-lights" sunlight effect, I saw it
done with a black-and-white panorama of Sydney Harbour (Bridge on the
right, Opera House on the left) at twilight. It made it look like all
was going dark, and the lights in the city were coming on (though they
were all obviously on in the first place). It was a very impressive
effect, and I note they use it on most every potential customer
through the door.

For what it's worth, he has smaller, non-limited prints
(different...flowers, shells, and such) often selling at a much more
accessible price, and there are the books (a poorer substitute, though
not poor). He had a wonderfully-framed foggy Sydney Harbour Bridge
(the frame was brushed, large-rivetted - like on the Bridge itself -
steel, and very complementary to the photo) which was being sold, from
memory, n the low hundreds. It was there for a while, I wanted it, and
of course left it long enough for it to be sold to someone else. I
regret that.

He seems both a very good photographer and businessman.

Cheers,
Marc
