Yes, the FL40 is a revised G40 flash. Different control electronics
and different foot but same housing and flash. The G40 was a fantastic
unit and in combination with the IS-3(3000) is so good that I still
have mine and refuse to get rid of it. I shot many weddings with it,
along with an OM kit and medium-format kit. AF was very very fast and
needed very little light. Noisy camera, but excellent lens (35-180mm)
and auto modes that really worked correctly. Mine lived(lives) on ISO
400 and 800 print films.
