Thanks for the alert. The short register distance of the EF mount means the 
lens only protrudes about 1 mm behind the 
adapter. That's a tiny bit less than part of one of my EF lenses protrudes.

I already know it's safe on the 300D, but will take care in testing it with the 
5D.
