We have a saying here in the Pampas which goes: "A caballo regalado no
se le mira los dientes", or a variation of such: "A caballo regalado
no se le mira el pelo".
A translation might be "One doesn't pay attention to the teeth / hair
of a freely received horse." (I didn't think the word 'gift' would
have been appropriate in this context).
Just an English exercise ...
