I have the same relationship to the C-8080 that you have to the A1.  I
like the SLR viewfinder for various reasons, but not because it is
"better."

What follows is a totally personal, quirky, possibly nonsensical
utterance, but a little bit of obstruction in the viewfinder seems to
help me rely more on my imagination than just my sight. I like the
2-13 screen for the reason you cite.  But I'd be better off with a
1-13 than a 2-4 when it comes right down to it. :(
