No not at the time of the knee surgery. He had an early form of bariatric
surgery (an intestinal bypass that almost killed him) about 20 years ago
that allowed him to lose about 200 lbs. His knee finally gave out last year.
He also recently had plastic surgery to remove a large quantity of redundent
skin.
