Last night was my indoctrination into digital 3d....
Our stereo club had a digital meeting & competition. We have had these for
2 years now, but never entered (which hurts my standings) because I do not
take digital pictures and I am too lazy to scan my stereo slides.
But I decided to enter last night. I had a few digital 3d pictures that I
shot in an hour with the borrowed Fuji 3d digital camera. I selected one of
these, a close up of our cat.
Then, I scanned two stereo slides: One from our Orlando vacation, a picture
of a Troll with his HUGE nose coming out of the stereo window. Another, a
tabletop of a slinky sitting on a mirror (for extra reflection).
I selected these entries and scanned the slides, just two hours before the
meeting (I am a big procrastinator) I had zero expectations. I figured, I
will get 3 points, just by entering 3 images, and I would be happy.
Results:
1. Close up of the cat got an HM (2 pts)
2. Slinky got 1st place (5 pts)
3. Troll got 1st place and was voted "People's Choice" (6 pts total)
Wow! I ended up with 13 pts and after two meetings at I am in first place!
This digital thing is fun!
My Fuji 3d camera is delivered tomorrow!
I have a half marathon this weekend. I will run with the camera in my hands,
"dress rehearsal" for the Athens marathon on Nov. 8th!
