Thanks, Ian. But what about the Typhoon, or was the weather too bad?

I understand the attraction of a Vulcan display, but for me it's the
most dreadful waste of AVTUR (jet fuel). The blasted thing takes huge
amounts of money to keep flying and it is the most ghastly relic of
the Cold War. All my colleagues who went to the Vulcan couldn't wait
to get out of it, so dreadful was the thing thing to fly. One of our
AEF pilots, Paul Milliken, used to fly the display during the early
90s, and it looked pretty dangerous then, a huge beast like that doing
a wingover: the inside wing is almost stationary, and when a lifting
surface comes to a halt there is no lift ...

But the ladies like the shape, and I suppose noise counts for a lot in
a display :-)

I like the exposure and composition of many of your shots, Ian. Well
done with the Black Cats (never heard of them before!) and the Merlin
shot (nice helo).

Finally, wouldn't you have hated to be a navigator in the Vixen, that
little bubble behind and to the side of the pilot; not as bad as being
one of the rear crew in the dark hole at the back of the Vulcan
cockpit, though.
