That pole has been standing for a year or three. A recent visitor left the 
year of his / her visit seen here:

The upright erection fix is curious but not right. The pole was not upright. 
I am visiting the area again this summer and will take some more photos.

and scroll down to the sixth row of thumbnails. Expand the rightmost 
thumbnail. Seen from a distance in the other direction from which I took my 
shot the pole is seen to be leaning.

My shot was taken with a 12-60 on a E510.
