Hmm,
  It seems I have yet one more to modify hiding on my 400/4.  I'll try 
your variation next.  The pungent epoxy aroma somehow
urged me to search for a post of the  all time most famous list 
epoxyier.

My small variation on Gary's method (which was my guideline when I 
altered my
adaptall):  I put a very small piece of aluminum foil on top of the 
screw head
to keep the epoxy from filling the slots of the screw in case I had to 
pull it
apart - not that I would know what to do if I did pull it apart.  I 
figured
getting that epoxy out of the phillip slots might be painful.

I run my finger nail across the mount before attaching to the camera 
body as a
check.
