I am sure you are right and I got it wrong. I was clearly under caffeinated
this morning and operating from memory! It's been a while since I did this

Interesting. Actually, I've always done the reverse, illuminating the
film plane and observing the image of the film opening on paper laying
on the hood.
Next time, I'll try them both.
