So far non of the links have been Hillbilly Music. Here are some 
examples in its more sophisticated and polished form. I believe the 
origins are from the Irish and Scottish immigrants who came to work in 
the Appalachian coal mines. The original instruments were more crude. It 
incorporates the African influence brought by the slave trade. Besides 
Bill Monroe and Del McCoury who got his start playing with Bill some 
others were the Delmore Brothers, the Louvin Brothers, the Blue Sky Boys 
and of course the Stanley Brothers. Check out the sound track from "O 
Brother, Where Art Thou?"
