And they have to get REALLY ugly. Most of our stuff is now underground,
which means that we're less likely to be affected by ice-storms and car
wrecks, but one well placed back-hoe, mower (don't ask), or vandal with an
axe can still wreck havoc.
We're completely backed up power-wise. In our case, we can have a total
loss of the power-grid statewide and still provide dialtone in all places
and DSL in most. Where things get hairy is when it is a massive ice-storm
that knocks out the power and we can't get the portable generators around to
the non-generator sites before the batteries fade.
