Thanks John, however I was just curious as to whether it was a problem I
could tackle myself as the economic solution is to put the batteries in
either an IS-3000 or IS-200 of mine and give her that rather than ship it
across the pond for repair.

When I was an Olympus subcontractor, I did IS-1, 1000, L-1 (same model).
You can send it anytime. Don't see many of them anymore.
