I'd be more than happy to take that garbage lens off your hands.  I'm sure I
can try to figure out how to take a few pictures with a yellowed lens.  ;)

What an incredible response from that dweeb.  I too, would go for a full
reversal of funds and NOT return the lens.  Make him go after you for the
return of it.
