Having a little change jangling in my pocket and being in Chicago, I made it
to Calumet Photo. There, I managed to score an FS2 Grid Screen and a
replacement eyecup for my E-1. The eyecup is somewhat an improvement over
the stock one, but the grid screen was the big deal for me.
Now, please understand that I'm one to like my finder screens to be totally
blank with nothing on them--no lines, focus-aids, etc. So why did I buy the
grid screen?
Crooked horizons.
This has been my reoccuring curse with the 4/3 format. Without the longer
image base, I find it harder to keep my horizons level. Much harder. Too
the point where I've almost chucked my camera over a bridge more than once.
Well, maybe the grid will help, eh?
I'm quite pleased with the grid screen. The lines are finely etched and
honestly are not nearly as interruptive as I thought they would be. Quite
bearable, really.
