Lantana is another plant that requires some caution. From Peterson's
Field Guide to Venomous Animals and Poisonous Plants: "In the wild,
Lantana is poisonous to grazing animals. May produce jaundice,
photosensitivity, gastrointestinal disturbances and constipation.
Lantadene A and B are considered the major toxic components. Ingestion
of the unripe (green) fruits has been reported in the poisoning of two
small children in Tampa, Florida. Ripe fruits are questionably edible.
Leaves may cause dermatitis."
