Like Chuck, I have more friends on this list,many of quite a few years
standing, than I have in 'real' life. I can't say the connection is as
deep, but it's certainly there for me.

As you say, but I'd put a different spin on it. The posts of folks on
this list whether currently Oly, Nikon, Canon, Pentax or whatever users,
stand out among photography forums* for the quality of the discussions
in technical accuracy and depth, civility and general humanity.
