At least CR makes an effort to systematically collect model feedback
and I don't think any VW is recommended as a used car because of
reliability problems. I have a friend whose new VW suffered
"electronic box failure" many times and many tows to the dealer before
warranty expiration. When she started having to pay for them she
dumped it. It is a shame because they are such desirable cars otherwise.
