Anecdote: I had a gas step van that I sold in 2003, and still have the
page available. I can tell when the "Google dance" has happened
sometimes, because I begin getting email and even calls from people
who want to buy my step van! The current version of the page notes
right at the top that it's been sold -- I don't know if it's just
stupid people contacting me, or if some long-ago-cached version is
being broadcast.
