Partly true. No automated process will take you 100% of the way
there. I haven't found anything yet, including PTGui, that gets the
merges right. There's always something amiss and the sky merge just
doesn't cut it. Close, yes, but just like any automatic
transmission, you've got to yank it into the gear of your choice once
in a while.
For "most" merges, I would be perfectly content with Photoshop's
results. However, when I'm being anal, that's when a defined process
is necessary.
