There's another closing in a couple of days, 280117485220, at AU$660 now.

Neither it nor the one that went for US$790 include the hood/step-up
ring, which is considerably harder to find than the lens itself.
Although I have the deep front cap, I never use it. The lens lives in a
non-Oly case the right size to accommodate it with hood and a generic 72
mm lens cap on the hood.

The lack of the hood is probably why the $790 guy had to have the FE
recoated. With the hood, the FE is well protected from random encounters
with outside objects. To me, if that lens was worth $790, it would be
worth more like $900-950 with the hood.

If I were looking to buy today, I would do what I did before, wait for
one with hood. Unless I made a deal beforehand for the extra hood
mentioned here recently.

If selling, and I had the hood, I would make a big deal about it,
pointing out how important it is to reduce flare in a super wide lens
and to protect that protruding FE, perhaps even mentioning the one sold
with new coatings. I might even say something about how Oly did a superb
job with the glass, but a design mistake to keep it small by not having
a built in hood/protector. And I would mention that normal 49-72 mm
step-up rings won't fit because their rear threads are too thick to fit
in the thin slot around the FE.
