If the room is very tiny, either paint the walls white or hang a white
cloth. Use multiple cheap flashes connected together by a synch cord
and bounce them off the wall. You could have multiple flashes on one
stand.

You will probaly want at least one flash which can be quite
directional for backlighting or creating highlights. Don't dismiss the
idea of using at least one umbrella.
