I'm surprised by the lack of discussion around this camera. I guess the
lack of a US distribution would explain it to some extent, though I know
there are lots of Europeans on here too :).
Anyway, I picked one up a week or so ago, and have been mostly very
impressed. The resolution increase is real compared to the E-1. The
smallness takes some getting used to, but really it's no different than
handling an OM as far as body size goes.
I thought it would be neat to post a picture of the E-400 (wearing an OM
24mm f/2.8 lens) next to an OM-4ti (with regulation 50mm f/1.8).

It's really not that similar to the OM in handling, though the size
difference isn't that great. Compared to the E-1 I think there are
significant improvements. The AF speed seems snappier, and the
resolution increase is great. Noise control seems pretty good. I had a
Canon 5D for a while last year, until selling it once I realised the E-1
had many benefits compared to that format. The key improvement of the 5D
was resolution, but I think Olympus are getting very close to that, and
bring on the other benefits of the 4:3rds format.
The small format does take some getting used to, and it's nowhere near
the E-1 in ergonomics, but I'm looking forward to getting hte 14-42mm
lens and having a very high resolution DSLR that weighs next to nothing.
I've posted some example shots and comments on a forum I tend to
frequent. It would also be cool to also hear from other E-400 shooters
out there :)
