Get up on the wrong side of the bed this morning? Why do you have to be
on the upgrade treadmill? I bought my 5D because I thought it was the
best tool available that met my specific requirements... which have
never included 4x5 Velvia quality. I don't anticipate any significant
change in my requirements so I will not feel any upgrade pressure when
the 5D verson II comes along.

I think it's fairly safe to say that the megapixel treadmill will slow
down pretty soon. Maybe the 5D version II will go to 16MP vs 22 for the
1 series but there ain't a lick of difference between 13MP and 16MP as
far as resolution goes. Even the difference between 13 and 22MP is only
about 30 percent. And it that ain't enough go use that E-1 as a combo
light meter and Polaroid shooter, shoot some 4x5 Velvia using those
preview settings so one shot gets it perfect and then scan it with one
of the new 4x5 capable Canon 9950F scanner for $350. Even at only 1200
dpi you get a 28.8MP image. See:

Please watch your step when getting off the rapidly moving treadmill. :-)
