[OM] E-330 RAW mode issues

I updated Olympus Viewer to 1.51, presumably to get some support for
E-330 RAW, although I had no problems converting them before the
update. There is also on the Olympus America site a plug-in that
allows one, using the older, original version of CS, to open E-330 RAW
files. (The Adobe Camera Raw updates don't provide support for
current cameras back into old CS.) You can't see RAW thumbnails in
the browser, just the filename, so you kind of have to know what
you're looking for and then use PS "Import" to open the "Olympus RAW"
file. Probably the only practicable way to use this is to shoot RAW +
jpg.

Olympus would do well to include DNG, as Pentax has done. I can't buy
Olympus cameras if I have to keep upgrading versions of PS in order to
get RAW support with some acceptable level of convenience.

I've always relied on Viewer with E-1 RAW. In terms of everything
I've tried, it just has offered the best path to a final, finished
result in PS for me. With the E-1, Viewer seems not quite as good.
Specifically, the file seems oversharpened. Even with sharpening
supposedly turned off in the camera settings, apply an bit of
sharpening in a Viewer-converted E330 RAW file and at about 66% and
above on the monitor you see not just artifacts but an entire mesh
overlaid. Very weird. And ugly.

The PS Import method works fine. Weird that Viewer craps out but the
Olympus plugin for PS is fine. RAW mode with every Olympus camera I
have owned that has had that capability has worked differently and
responded differently. I realize it has to be different for every
camera, but it's a pain in the keester along with the rest of the
learning curve.
