Thom Hogan's web page(bythom.com) talks about the disappointment of
everyone with the debut of just bread and butter models this year and
predicts new pro models by Canon and Nikon next year. It occurred to
me that Olympus may be timing their E-3 for that hoping to make a
similar pro offering at the same time, but sliding in at a lower
price. Certainly if there are the multitude of those "which should I
buy" discussions in which the E-3 is dicussed in conjunction with
other pro models it could not hurt them in the long run. It had
better be good though and it better be next year if that is the
strategy.
