As a Pen newbie, here's my experience. OM lenses on the adapter are
stopped down automatically. The stop down button no longer works, and
the camera no longer controls the aperture (now, I haven't tried the
shift on the Pen yet). So the viewfinder changes intensity (ie lighter -
darker) as the lens aperture is changed. So, you'll get the brightest
viewfinder for focussing wide open. Once focussed, the lens aperture is
set manually.
I have an FV, so there's no internal meter. I thus use classic f stops
and shutter speed. The meter exposure numbers on the FT can only be used
with "FT" versions of the Pen lenses, which have both the numbers and
the f stops (on the other side) on the aperture ring. There must be an
equivalence between the two scales, but I don't know it is the same for
all lenses. I think I read something about this somewhere. The clip on
meter, I believe, uses f stops not the numbers.
As I learned from others on the list, pulling out and turning the
aperture ring allows you to use either the meter numbers or the f stops.
When I did this on my two FT lenses, I didn't make sure that the
aperture ring had engaged. Result: the aperture did not change as the
ring was turned and I had a lot of poorly exposed photos. Took me a
little while to figure out that the lenses were not broken....

I've never use the OM Pen adapter. Is this a manual diaphragm set up?
That is, focus wide open, then stop down before shooting. Also, how do
you relate the meter numbers in the finder with the f stops on the lens?
