My very first CF card was one I bought from ComputerGeeks, which I
think is one of Chuck's favorite sites -- a no-name card, 512 mb I
believe, and around $50-60, which seemed like stealing at the time it
was so comparatively cheap. That card was and is still great. I
usually get burned by the off-brands.
